What has been said about The Shee..... The Shee are an exceptional all female band blending an adventurous mix of Scottish folk, Gaelic song and bluegrass, their music features original compositions alongside a wealth of traditional material, showcasing powerful vocals and instrumental prowess. Boasting some of Scotland’s finest cutting edge young musicians and singers, they were nominated for this year’s BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award. Striking performances at festivals including Celtic Connections and Sidmouth Folk Week have earned the group a fast growing recognition as one of the best new bands on the circuit, hailed ‘…boasting some of folk music’s cutting-edge instrumentalists and singers’ (Daily Record). Collectively, The Shee show an impressive array of musical achievements including BBC Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician 2006 and BBC Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician Finalist 2005, as well as members performing with acclaimed traditional music groups such as Scottish folk orchestra, The Unusual Suspects and Scandinavian group Frigg. |
